I do not have Comcast Home security but I HIGHLY doubt you can record cameras. If you could I suspect there would be substantial extra charges.
If you swap DVRs from legacy boxes to X1 you will lose your recordings. Who ever told you that you could was drinking funky koolaid. However I have come to realize that no recording is that important. Most (but not all) programs can be recovered.
You will find that X1 is not as "smart" as you are hoping it is...

However, I have a very large library of shows on my legacy Comcast DVR. Is there any way to swap to a new DVR and retain these shows? Someone told me that there may be a way to copy the DVR data to a thumb drive or similar technology. Is that possible, or is it not? Sorry, I can't afford to lose those DRV recordings; most of them are for my wife, and my wife would kill me. My old DVR is a Cisco RNG200 box - veyr old
Of course, one other question is this: how much realistically more will I have to pay for the X1 Service? Sorry, I scanned the the web site for pricing, and for some reason, it will not give it to me. It quotes prices for the internet and home services, but not X1.Very Strange.
Thank you.
