Re: Multiple erroneous DVR scheduled recordings occurring every day

Hi RobertWy, I've thought about that but there is a huge problem in doing that.

Deleting a series recording is extremely easy.

The problem is in creating a series recording in X1. You can only create a series recording for a series on a specific channel when that series actually appears on that channel in the guide. That means if I delete the SVU series recording at this time I CAN'T set it again for several weeks minimum. The reason - NBC is broadcasting the Olympics and therefore that series will not even appear again as a repeat for 2-4 weeks.

X1 does not allow you to find a series episode anywhere and then select the channel option to change it. It ONLY allows for that exact channel or HD/SD. Therefore I would have to wait until it appears somewhere on channel 105 to set it so I see channel 105 as an option, so that is impossible to test right now.

I thought about doing this with the NCIS series since it is on CBS, but I already cancelled those unwanted recordings and that means I can't recreate the exact circumstances needed to test your suggestion.

But I tried with NCIS anyway and it seems that the more I try to "FIX" this issue the worse things get for the scheduled recordings. One thing I noticed is that the DVR manager on the website shows ALL series recordings as "Any Channel" ONLY! That's a huge problem since I NEVER want a series recorded off "any" channel, but ONLY from the channel I select from the guide on the TV. Why this is appears to be either a bug in the X1 platform or a complete oversight on the part of the engineers. What I had tried with the NCIS series recording was to delete the series on the Xfinity website, then add it on the TV from the guide on channel 107. When I set the series recording from the guide on the TV it showed everything correctly - new eps only, channel 107 only, HD, etc. BUT - later I looked at the series recording info on the TV, instead of showing only record from channel 107, it now only gave me Any Channel, HD Only or SD Only options!

That all being said, I may have to delete the series recordings for all series impacted in order to more easily correct what is being recorded. BUT, I can only then wait to reschedule the series for recording in the future.

My problem with this approach is that it DOES NOT fix whatever problem caused this issue in the first place. That means we are wasting our time until they fix those problems.

I think I will stop trying to do anything otherthan to just delete the 4 series that seem to be impacted the most (at least as far out as I can view anything). But I will need to set a reminder to recreate the series recordings at some later date.

But, while looking at the shows that seem to be impacted the most, I wonder if this issue isn't some how related to NBC broadcasting the Olympics in the first place. It started about the time that NBC started broadcasting the Olympics. Right now I see 40 unwanted hours of recordings, all but the 3 NCIS and 1 other unwanted recordings are for NBC series (90%)...
