Question 1): Is that recording 5 shows and watching a non-recorded show? Yes it is 5 +1 but it also depends upon how many additional "X1 client" boxes you have and which X1 boxes they are. Most X1 client boxes "borrow" tuners from the DVR.
Question 2): Are we able to scroll amoung the six (hard drives?) that are on different channels but not recording the show? We can do this with our Tivo XL4 Premier and it's a great feature. There is one "hard drive". But your X1 box has six "tuners". X1 does not allow to "scroll" between the tuners unless you are actually recording the programs.
