I have a PR150BNC non-DVR box, great signal, but the navigating any menu's or changing channel is slow, 1-3 seconds, and the delay gets longer and longer until I reboot the box.
I got the chance to use an X1 DVR box over the weekend and noticed the speed of everything, snappy and responsive. Fades, transitions, and visual effects for the DVR box. Sometimes I have to wait 5-7 seconds for my menu items to float away from each other when I hit the XFINITY button on my remote (in other words, you can see the box struggling with a simple menu animation)
Are the two boxes simply different in terms of cpu/video power? I would guess so (due to the DVR's need for video recording/playback). Is there anything I can do to speed things up without upgrading?
