I am aware of the 4K cameras at both the golf tournament and Super Bowl. I watched both. The cameras were set up on the 18th hole and the announcer said the grass would look a different color than the other greens. My TV does have a partial set of the HDR convention and the grass did look different. There are cameras on the market with HDR, and HDR takes much less bandwith it might have been possible to transmit a partial set. I might be wrong on this.
I happen to also live up here in the TC metro area.
I checked the Ultra HD Sampler app when we got back home today with the MH. They added the latest season just finised of the Outlanders in 4K version. So someone is working on this app. Maybe they do pay attention to forum comments on this posts and others concerning UHD television.
When it comes to cable versus Direct TV at this current time, I have a number of cable channels I watch and can convert 2D to 3D. I would loose many of these switching.
