You don’t get picture in picture. Comcast/Xfinity thought it would be a good idea to take that away from us. It wasn’t a good idea. It was a very very bad idea.

Can it be downloaded to a flash drive or does it have to be hooked up via HDMI cable and recorded manually any advice because i had the same question and issue....

We also are seeing erroneous skip forward behavior on buffered live TV of late. Does not happen always or per some obvious pattern so far, Do not recall this problem until last couple months or so? Originally thought it must be something we did. Sure of late this is incorrect. Problem usually is after watching live TV in buffer mode for a bit, we hit the skip fwd once or twice and the show immediately skips to end of buffer, aka live TV. No easy way to get back sometimes since viewing this wat does not or certainlt should not require us to monitor buffer length all along the way. Ends up with hunt and peck backwards until back to correct spot. Meanwhile, when want to get back to live TV it seems to take multiple presses, waits... what gives. Guess I miss the ole “live” button. Also concur that getting to DVR aka recordings is probably in top three most used functions for dvr customers, so why CC thinks “accessibility” deserves a shortcut key but my recordings list needs 4 steps plus pauses often in between... is a miss in design in my view too! Above is on two Arris Xg1s eith Xr5 remotes and seemingly good signals etc. i believe first issue is a code problem, second a design misinterpretation,. Just my somewhat lengthy two cents.

Hi . I can assist in researching the HDMI-CEC support issue you are encountering. I will have to do some research with our video experts to confirm, but for starters, please go into the Comcast Labs settings and confirm if the 'HDMI Link' setting is On? 

 

Customer Retention: Verizon FiOS is new to my area and offering great deals. Can Xfinity match it?

Verizon has just launched FiOS service in my neighborhood, and is offering some really great deals in an incentive to switch from Comcast/Xfinity. Is there a retention department I can speak to at Xfinity to see if they're able to match Verizon's offers? Right now some of Verizon's deals are as much as 40-50% less than what I'm currently paying with Comcast.

XR11 remote OK/Enter button not working with TV after switching inputs

So everything else I use on the remote that I need works except when I try to "confirm" a selected TV Input (like Cable, DVD, Blu-Ray, etc), the center "Enter" button (in between the arrow buttons) does nothing... no other button will "confirm" the selection, so the input menu won't close.

 

The TV is Samsung and its remote has several buttons that close the menu, such as "Enter" or "Return" or "Menu", but nothing on the Xfinity remote is having the same affect.

 

Is there some fix for this or some way to troubleshoot this?

Hello, I have rebooted, and the Pandora app launched , but loading still takes a long time and songs will still fast forward to next song before play has finished. There is still an app issue . I contacted Pandora and their reply is that the XFinity Pandora app is flawed and need to be repaired by the Comcast engineer that wrote the code. The software Pandora via my computer browser is works as well as the iPad OS version. There are many others on this forum that have complained on this topic. Please note that I NEVER had an issue under the older GUI. Thank you.

This is the same problem that I have.  It has just started doing this.

 

I have two of these, and they always shut off.  "until recently"

 

Went to the local office, relayed the issue to them.

They gave us a replacement, and now this new one does not shut off!

 

I don't like having that bright light on while I sleep.

 

Everything I have read so far, says it is always suppose to stay on.

But, why!!!, did it start now???

I can’t replicate the problem. It just happens, so I’m skeptical about how well the 1800 service folks will be able to help. I’ll give it a shot.

Wireless is my only option because it's in the kitchen, and I don't have a way to run cat5 or coax to that spot. I also didn't want to buy or try power line adaptors, though I have some old netgear ones in a box somewhere.

 

Here's what I did last night, and it seemed to work:

 

1) AirPort Extreme is connected to gateway via cat5, set to bridge mode, and is also broadcasting (not extending) a wireless network.

2) I renamed the 5GHz SSID for the gateway to the same as the 5GHz SSID from the AirPort, with same password.

3) I unpaired the Xi5 from the previous network name (pressing the WPS button on the device lets you do this)

4) I re-paired the Xi5 using the gateway web admin UI and the WPS push button on the Xi5

5) The signal was still low after the device paired up with the new SSID, leading me to believe it still connected with the basement gateway (1 WiFi wave in the settings)

6) I unplugged the power cable on the Xi5 and plugged it back in

7) After doing this, it seems like the Xi5 chose to pair with the much closer AirPort with the same SSID instead, as I now have 4 WiFi waves, and the picture signal hasn't failed or wavered yet.

Anyone else have just tnt and tru tv problems during March madness? Called and representative was going through normal refresh options. Just happened to not work on Thursday and Friday and Sunday. Works now when there is no basketball on.. dumb

Multiple accounts on Netflix app

Does anybody know if it’s possible to have two Netflix accounts (not profiles) on the Xfinity Netflix app?  I’m staying with a friend for several months and I’d like to access my own account on the app, but I can’t figure how to do it. Thanks.

You would log your friend out of their account on whichever box your using and log in with your info. Just like any other device that accesses Netflix
