Yea, so much for "AUTO EXTEND" feauture, right ?   That feature doesn't work very well.

That is absolutely not true.


I happen to have a (really good) splitter between my XG1V4 box and my SB8200, and last I checked they're working just fine. Smiley Happy

Ok, we had two boxes for over a year. And they went south at the same time.

Almost like Comcast did an upgrade on line.

 

Now they won’t a knowledge the problem. 

 

We we went and exchanged for new hardware same problem. 

 

I’ve been an electrical engineer for 40yrs.

 

i don’t plan on exchanging boxes forever.

I ran a few different setting tests with the labs feature - it sort of works. Unfortunately it sends a constant / repeated signal of "look at my input" to the TV. It will change the HDMI input to the X1 STB automatically on power up, but it continues to do so even when the box is powered down via preferences.  When a streaming device input is signaled to the TV X1 immediately takes it back and requires a manual input again. Hopefully they streamline it and find a way to roll it out for the cloud only boxes in standby/sleep mode that don't need constant HDMI out signal.

 

The HDMI-CEC function in labs today isn't coded properly, the key consumer advantage of HDMI-CEC is to automatically switch inputs between multiple devices on a single screen without the need of a universal remote or receiver.

Hi Andrew,

I just had an HG4 Bluetooth enabled box installed. It works for one pair of headphones, but not two.  Is that correct?  If it is, that’s unfortunate.  Is there any kind of workaround?  I also have a Homespot Blue Tooth Audio Transmitter that does work for two headphones, but I was never able to get it to work with either. Any tips gratefully received

I was getting ready to post exactly the same sentiments.  They should give us back the basics they took away before doing anything new. I don't think what we have asked for over and over ad naseum  to be reinstated is too much to ask. Smiley Sad

Aren't we past all the patent expiration dates by now?

 

That's what folks kept saying was the reason for a lot of the functionality losses, although I still believe it's a bandwidth/performance decision.

For weeks i am unable to watch 41 fox news and other random channels. Picture is usually very pixelated, sound marbled, and sometimes cant change channels at all . Tried rebooting nothing please help

I work at a call center where comcast is a client, and i was asked a VERY good question by an Xfinity customer;   Can we set the playlists we make to Loop continuously, like how one might do with a Bluray or DVD, or a Digital Playlist on Windows Media PLayer, VLC Media player and the like?

Same here, 2 Xid-p boxes will not power down with remote. There is a power button in the corner above the light. Pain on the ×==×££€₩

TV cuts out

our xfinity tv connection goes off and on multiple times each night between 6:00-6:30. Is this happening to anyone else?

I have the opposite problem. We shut the tv and cable off when we go to bed. Sometime during the night the night the cable box but nit the tv comes on by itself.

tune to that channel and if it is having problems (or when it is 'acting up') call 800-Comcast and select TV and ask the agent to run the Internal Troubleshooting Guide Einstein. They may be able to tell from the internal logs if the signal is low on that channel. If not, a local tech can come to the home and find out what the issue is and get it fixed.

the set top boxes are not powering down, they are going into a power-save mode. The boxes automatically reboot and that refreshes the firmware when available and the menu system as updates are available.
